John Lyon has a rich history and tradition dating back to 1876, yet we are a proudly modern, forward thinking and ambitious school.
The Development Office encourages Old Lyonians, parents and friends of the School to donate to the 1876 Fund to help to enrich pupils' experience at John Lyon. With your support we can look to the future with confidence that opportunities for pupils will grow and John Lyon will continue as a leading place of learning for generations to come.
The School is entirely reliant on fee income to deliver an outstanding academic and pastoral education. The School's Development needs cannot be funded from fee surplus alone or from one-off appeals. To ensure current and future pupils leave John Lyon with the maximum benefit from the nurturing, rounded and high quality education that previous generations have enjoyed, we need your regular support to help transform the educational experience either through provide life changing opportunities to the Bursary applicants we have to turn away through lack of financial resources via the Bursary Fund, or through further enriching facilities and broadening horizons with exceptional projects via the 1876 Fund.

THE BURSARY FUND
John Lyon is strongly committed to the provision of Bursary places to widen access for those children who could benefit from the outstanding education on offer, but whose families are unable to afford the fees. We invite you to join us in our mission to preserve the rich philanthropic tradition and be a part of transforming a life today. By offering the vital support to a local child from a disadvantaged financial background you can help us achieve our goal of offering places to deserving children with no financial boundaries.

THE 1876 FUND
The 1876 Fund is a regular giving programme which supports projects to provide opportunities for students beyond the curriculum and departmental budgets. Generous contributions have enabled the School to provide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) focused learning via robotics equipment and an engineering task of building an electric car, National Theatre Connections participation, public speaking training for our TEDx talks and many other enriching projects.

REMEMBRANCE
Many Lyonians wish to remember family and friends through gifts to the School, or wish to give in their own name. Examples of such gifts are prizes named after individuals, bursary contributions, rooms within the School and trees.
